Project Engineer Onshore
(Subsea Rock Installation)

The Company

Offshore Wind Logistics B.V. (OWL) is an ambitious and growing company. Dedicated to serve the renewable offshore energy sector, we specialize in hands-on marine services. In close collaboration with the company Canada Steamship Lines (the CSL-Group), OWL has set-up the joint venture company CSL OWL SRI B.V.

Last year this JV company has ordered two impressive subsea rock installation vessels with which the JV is now evolving into a leading independent marine services provider, offering comprehensive subsea rock installation services.

Introduction

Do you want to work on offshore projects without being just a small cog in a large corporate machine? In this role at Offshore Wind Logistics B.V. in Rotterdam, you will have the opportunity to make a real impact on projects — from preparation through to execution.
You will be closely involved in operations, collaborate with multiple disciplines, and ultimately see your work come to life offshore.

What will you do?

As a Project Engineer, you will work on offshore projects with a focus on subsea rock installation (SRI). Most of your work will take place in the office, where you ensure that everything is technically sound and projects are thoroughly prepared.

What makes this role particularly interesting is that you are not working on a small, isolated part of a project. Instead, you are broadly involved and play a key role within the core project team. You will work closely with the Operations Manager and collaborate with various disciplines.

In addition, you will have the opportunity, when required, to go offshore. This allows you to not only see your work on paper, but also how it is executed in practice.

In practice, your responsibilities include:

  • Preparing method statements, risk assessments, and installation procedures
  • Translating client documentation into clear, practical, and executable plans
  • Analyzing survey data and applying it within projects
  • Providing technical input during tender processes
  • Coordinating with colleagues from operations, survey, vessels, and tendering
  • Supporting offshore activities (on an ad hoc basis), for example by monitoring progress and assisting with adjustments

You are involved from start to finish and directly see the results of your work.

What do you bring?

This role is a great fit for someone with a few years of experience as an engineer who is ready for more responsibility and deeper involvement in projects. You are not only interested in engineering itself, but also in understanding how projects are executed in practice and what it takes to make them successful.

You bring:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Offshore Engineering, Marine Engineering, or similar
  • Several years of relevant work experience (approximately 3–7 years)
  • Affinity with offshore projects (experience in SRI is a plus, not a requirement)
  • The ability to analyze technical information and translate it into practical solutions

You are a strong fit if you:

  • Have a hands-on and pragmatic mindset
  • Are curious and driven to truly understand your work
  • Work in a structured and accurate manner
  • Enjoy collaborating within a project team

High-potential junior candidates with a strong technical foundation and affinity for offshore are also encouraged to apply.

What do we offer you?

You will join a compact organization with short communication lines, where you will quickly gain responsibility and have a direct impact on projects. There is plenty of room to develop yourself, both across offshore projects and within a specialization such as SRI.

In addition, you can expect:

  • A salary between €3,800 and €5,500 gross per month (depending on experience)
  • The opportunity to gain offshore experience
  • Training and certifications (such as VCA or offshore certificates) via COS
  • A working environment with a high level of responsibility and close collaboration with operations
  • Career growth opportunities towards a specialist or more senior role

Good to know: offshore work is possible, but typically arranged in consultation and on an ad hoc basis.
